High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Governor of Abia State, Okezie
Ikpeazu, to vacate office immediately for submitting false information to his
party, the Peoples Democratic Party, for the party’s governorship primary in
December 2014.

Okon Abang in a judgment on Monday ordered the Independent National Electoral
Commission to immediately issue a certificate of return to the plaintiff, Uche
Ogah, having polled the second highest number of votes in the primary he
contested alongside Dr. Okezie and other aspirants in the party...
However, there is indication that the state governor will
appeal the judgment. One of the governor's aide who however spoke on condition
of anonymity stated that the governor has directed his lawyer to file appeal
immediately.
According to reports, the sacked governor allegedly presented false tax clearance certificate and other credentials in his application form.
