Ooni Loses Grand Mother At 104

OLORI Mariani Adeyemi Ogunwusi, the paternal grand mother of Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has passed on to her ancestors at the age of 104 years.

The Olori who was survived by an only son, Prince Oluropo Ogunwusi, father of the Ooni and 12 other grandchildren, Olori Mariani died at exactly 4:30am in her house in Ile-Ife.
The Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s palace, Moses Olafare, confirmed the incident in a statement adding that the late Queen Ogunwusi fondly called Mama Alaso passed on peacefully and in strong health.
According to reports on some media, she might have had the premonition of her death as she had, in the last one month, been placing Ooni Ogunwusi’s picture on her chest either while sleeping or sitting always praying: “Olorun o ma seun o ti o je ki ala ogoji odun wa si imuse l’oju emi mi. Moti ti wa se tan latin pada s’odo re bayii o, ki n’ le so fun oko mi pe asotele odun 1974 ti sele o,” meaning: “God, I thank you for keeping me alive to witness a dream of over 40 years. I am now ready to return to you in heaven for eternity and will be able to tell my husband of this manifestation of our 1974 dream.”
