56TH INDEPENDENCE: FG Declares October 3 Public Holiday


FEDERAL government has declared Monday October 3, as public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 56th Independence anniversary.
Disclosing this in a statement on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Muhammadu Maccido assured the general public that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is sensitively concerned over the plights the citizens are going through at the moment as a result of the economic challenges adding that palliative measures are on the way towards mitigating the predicaments in no distant time.
“While making the declaration on behalf of the federal government congratulates Nigerians at home and abroad on the commemoration of this year’s independence anniversary.
President Muhammadu Buhari assures every Nigerians that government is working assiduously to put in place various palliative measures to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges”, he said.
The minister also enjoined all Nigerians to continue to give supports to the good policies of the federal government towards successful restructuring of the economy in the overall interest of the nation. He finally wished all Nigerians a wonderful 56th Independence anniversary.
