Dr. Bukola Saraki
The Code of Conduct Tribunal has adjourned the trial of the President of the Senate,Dr. Bukola Saraki to March 18 for arguments of the charges on the alleged false declaration of assets and failure to declare as a governor of a state.
Adjourning the matter, President of the CCT, Danladi Umar, enjoined the parties to ensure that all motions and processes are adequately served to the appropriate quarters to avoid further delay of the trial.

Saraki is standing trial over false declaration of assets while he was the governor of Kwara state between 2003 to 2011 as well as on assumption of office as the President of the Senate as required by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria.

He earlier challenged the jurisdiction of the tribunal to try him which got to the Supreme Court, however lost out as the apex court ruled against him affirming that CCT has a competent jurisdiction to try him as a public officer in the federal Republic of Nigeria.
