Football Federation (NFF) has indicated that a new Technical Adviser for the
national team, Super Eagles will emerge in a week’s time having failed to
successfully strike a deal with Frenchman, Paul Le Guen to lead the team ahead of the Russia 2018
World Cup qualifiers.
However, it was learnt that the
Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is favouring Salisu
Yusuf as the new Super Eagles Head Coach following Le Guen’s
rejection of the offer...
The NFF in a communique on Wednesday in Abuja
after its executive committee meeting indicated that the board has given its
Technical and Development sub-committee a seven day ultimatum to nominate a
dependable technical adviser for the Eagles.
“Executive Committee instructed the Technical
and Development Sub –Committee to, within the next seven (7) days, recommend a
candidate for the post of Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles”, the
communique stated.
Other major decisions arrived at by the committee
include the confirmation of Salisu Yusuf as Chief Coach, placing of assistant
coaches on only bonuses and allowances, as well as the appointment of Bitrus
Bewarang as the new National Technical Director in replacement to the deceased
Coach, Shaibu Amodu who passed on recently alongside with Stephen Keshi in the
same week.
Imama Amapakabo it was also confirmed will
serve as Assistant Coach and Alloy Agu as Goalkeepers’ Trainer while Nduka
Ugbade was returned to the U17 National Team as Assistant Coach.
The Amaju Pinnick led board earlier named
a Frenchman, Paul Le Guen as the technical adviser but added subject to terms
and conditions offered by the offeror.
