SENATE President, Senator Bukola Saraki, has
restated his commitment and allegiance to his party, the All Progressives
Congress (APC) stating that the rumour over his defection to the Peoples’
Democratic Party (PDP) was baseless and unfounded.
In his explanation through his media aide,
Bamikole Omishore, Saraki said that he
attended the People’s Democratic Party’s caucus senate meeting on Wednesday as
the President of the Senate and chairman of the National Assembly, and not on
private capacity...
The statement reads in part, “the report is entirely
untrue as the Senate President stands committed to the APC; a party that he
helped midwife and worked for its victory in the 2015 elections.”
“He attended the end of session event
of the PDP caucus yesterday evening and spent only 30 minutes before leaving
the members to continue with the event.
“The Senate President would like to
assure every Nigerian that he is committed to the APC-led government and
appreciates the confidence reposed in him and the APC during the 2015 General
Elections.”
Omishore, had emphatically defended the
Senate President stating that his loyalty to APC is prominent adding that the
Senate President was committed to championing the ideals of the party.
