NOUN Introduces New Instructional Package, Targets To Cut Down fees, Others

NATIONAL Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, is set to introduce a new instructional tablet termed ‘i-NOUN’ aimed at overcoming the challenge of shortage of study materials in the university.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu, disclosed this during the week during his courtesy visit to the chancellor of the university, His Royal Majesty Igwe Dr. Lawrence Chikezie Agubuzu, in his palace at Awene Ezeama-Olo in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State...

According to Prof. Adamu, the new tablet will resolve all the challenges being faced as a result of shortages of study materials, and above all, will drastically reduce fees payable by students in the university when launched. The institution’s head also used the opportunity to eulogise his predecessor, Professor Vincent Tenebe stating that he is committed to continue from where he stopped.
“The i-NOUN tablet which would be made available to all students will have all study materials needed by students of the university uploaded in it and would be updated regularly to foreclose the possibility of those study materials getting obsolete,” Adamu said.
His host, the NOUN chancellor, had earlier commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Professor Adamu as the Vice Chancellor stating that his credentials are overwhelmingly intimidating and sensitively qualified for taking the institution to the new level, and pledged to join forces with the Vice chancellor in making NOUN not only the largest university in Nigeria but an enviable one.
“When I read through his extra-ordinary curriculum vitae, I knew that Mr. President has made the right choice and he is eminently qualified to manage this great university,” he said.
The royal father used the opportunity to urge Nigerians to give unalloyed support to President Muhammadu Buhari in moving the country forward.
“President Buhari is a quintessential patriot who must be supported by all Nigerians to build this country,” Igwe Agubuzu said.
