Judge’s Absence Stalls Fani-Kayode, Nenadi, Others Trial

THE arraignment of former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos was stalled on Tuesday as Justice M. S. Hassan, who was to preside over his case, was absent due to a workshop this week that coincided with the trial.
Others affected also by the same reason was the arraignment of Mrs. Nenadi Usman, a former Minister of Finance and Director of Finance, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation in the last general elections, as well Danjuma Yusuf and one artificial person; Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited...

The accused persons were scheduled to be arraigned on a 17-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing for personal use, corruption and making cash payments exceeding the statutory provisions.

Following this development, they were moved back to EFCC custody after waiting in futility, nevertheless, the court registrar stated that a new date would  be communicated to parties’ counsels in due course.
