EFCC Grants Secondus Bail

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday granted the Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), Prince Uche Secondus a bail with two sureties with a N750 million bond each.

According to the bail condition, his international passport will remain in the custody of the Commission while the two sureties must be personnel in the public service who are at least Grade level 17.
Confirming the release, Secondus’ counsel, Mr. Emeka Etiaba said that his client albeit released was given tight bail conditions.
“The PDP Deputy National Chairman has been released but under extremely stringent conditions. For a man whose alleged offence has not been proven, he does not deserve stringent bail terms”, Etiaba said.
Secondus who was released at 8.30pm by the Commission was detained over allegations of benefiting from the alleged mismanagement of the oil sector by the ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke.
