Fashola Advocates For Girl-Child Policies

of the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mrs Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola has called
for formulation of policies that would raise the values in the
girl-child and young women in the country adding that with adequate motivation, a girl-child has the capacity to achieve all her dreams.
Fashola according to the news Agencies of Nigeria NAN made the call during her installation as the President of the Nigeria Girl Guides Association (NGGA) on Monday in Lagos where she said that the girl-child needed moral supports and encouragement to enable her attain to
full potential rather than leaving her with all the decisions and other undertakings.
She emphatically siad that there is urgent need for government at all levels and other concerned
Nigerians to intensify efforts at implementing policies that would
improve the well-being of young girls and women.
“As much as humanly possible, let us show considerable improvement on
the well-being and values of our female children and the young women.
“Empowering the girl-child, especially through education, is a task that must be encouraged by all,’’ she said.
However, she pledged to team up with other leaders of the association in assisting girls and young women to fulfil their purposes in life.
Fashola, who took over from Mrs Taire Adefemi assured that the association would continue to encourage the
girl-child to attain greater height, and that she would ensure that the
girl-child got her right place in the society and be relevant in
national development
