PRESIDENCY: Osinbajo Reverts To VP As Buhari Writes National Assembly, Resumes

Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) this morning resumed duties as the Vice President of Nigeria as against the position of the Acting President which he held following President Mohammadu Buhari’s 5-day vacation in London which ended yesterday .
In his notice of vacation sent prior to the vacation to the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of the Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, the President said that the vacation would last from February 05 to 10, 2016 to enable him attend a routine medical check-up in London.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, he stated that the President has resumed duties at the State House, Abuja this morning having forwarded a notice of resumption to duty to the same presiding officers of the National Assembly in accordance to Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

By this development, Professor Osinbajo has reverted to his original office as the number two officer of the federation.
