CHRISTIAN
Association of Nigeria (CAN) has elected a new President to take over from Pastor
Ayo Oritsejafor whose tenure has elapsed. In the
election for the office of the President
of the religious association, Rev. Supo Ayokunle defeated Elder Joseph Otubu who was a nominee in the election.
Announcing the winner, the out-going president, Oritsejafor said
that the election which was conducted at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abuja was free and friar and reflected the wishes of
the majority.
The new CAN President, Ayokunle, who is the President of the Nigerian Baptist
Convention (NBC), Rev. Supo Ayokunle
defeated the Motailatu Church Cherubim and
Seraphim Movement (MCCSW), Elder Joseph Otubu with 54 votes against 28 votes.
