RIVERS State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has set up a Judicial
Commission of Inquiry led by Hon Justice Monoma Wenike Danagogo to investigate
the violence and killings that erupted some parts of the state during the
recent rerun elections for State House of Assembly and National Assembly in the
State.
According to the governor on Thursday, the setting up of the
panel was to address the remote cause towards curtailing re-occurrences in the
state.
“In order to forestall a repeat of the needless violence and
fatalities in future elections, I hereby establish a Judicial Commission of
Inquiry to investigate the violence,
killings and other related acts that occurred in parts of the state during the
March 19, 2016 rerun elections and make appropriate recommendations to the
government for implementation’, Wike said.
Other members of the Panel are Veneral John Adubasim, Mrs.
Douye Green, Mr. Joseph Zabbey, Mr. Luke Nwanodi and Mrs Uche Uriri who wil
serve as the Secretary.
