THE Supreme Court has today upheld the governorship elections of Dr. Victor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State as well as his Akwa-Ibom State counterpart, Emmanuel Udom.
In its judgment delivered today, the apex court said that the Court of Appeal erred in its judgment delivered against the election of Okezie Ikpeazu.
It would be recalled that the appellate court had nullified the election based on an appeal filed by the All Progressive Grand Alliance Candidate, Dr. Alex Otti and ordered for the swearing-in of the latter.
In similar vein, the court also upheld the governorship of Emmanuel Udom on the ground that he lawfully won by the total votes cast ipso facto sitting aside the ruling pf the appellate court.
However, the court reserved detailed reasons on arriving at the positions to February 15, 2016.
