N29bn Arms Fraud: EFCC Detains former Chief of Air Staff, Amosu

A former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Adesola Amosu who was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday over his alleged roles in the N29bn Arms deal was detained in the anti-grafts body’s custody as at yesterday.
Following the discovery that the aircrafts and ammunitions claimed to have been bought with the funds, were either non-existent or defective, amidst severe insecurity in country which ran into several billions of naira, President Mohammadu Buhari had ordered for a thorough probe of the purchases and fund allocated for the purpose. 
Incidentally, the Nigerian Air Force under Amosu was responsible for the purchases, and the panel set up indicted both the former NAF boss along with other top ranking military officers and public officeholders. Already, some of the properties belonging to other top military officers who allegedly played major roles in the fraud have been sealed.
