Divine Mandate On Believers

From the Pulpit on Sunday
God is a supreme being and therefore operates beyond errors and mistakes. Everything God made is for a particular purpose. It is thus a responsibility to locate the purpose of God for our individual lives. Essentially, the Christian life is not a purposeless journey. Every believer in Christ is called to a life of glory, dignity, excellence and virtue. Interestingly, this has little or nothing to do with someone’s biological background, height, complexion, gender, race, education or individual respective capacities.
God is one and indivisible. This implies that all children of God have his same genetic characteristic (DNA), and will therefore produce similar results because it is the same Spirit provided they willfully remain bonded or fixed to the same source and work with the same manual; that is God’s principles as laid down in His word. Romans  8:11 corroborates it, thus: “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Ephesians 2:14- “For He is our peace. He has made us (both Jew and Gentile) one body, and has broken down, destroyed, abolished) the hostile-dividing wall between us…..”
Importantly, God’s overpowering nature which is the eternal life is automatically injected into believers the moment a person accepts the lordship of Christ. Among the packages receivable alongside include power, dominion and godliness. Unfortunately, lack of insight into this reality keeps many Christians in bondage, hence not making progress with the eternal life; an exclusive and awesome life of God which makes Him almighty.
When someone becomes a believer in Christ, it means that he has seized from existing as a human being, rather as a human God. Expectedly, he should think, act and see things like God. This is where faith comes in. The Spirit of God which is resident in every believer is the network between God and man. Hence, it should consciously be a motivating force for conquests in our respective domains knowing that we have been programmed to overcome in all situations and circumstances.  1 John 5:4-For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
No wonder, Apostle Paul remarkably made emphasis on wisdom, revelation and understanding due to its importance in Christian journey.  Ephesians 1:17 “For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation (of insight into mysteries and secrets) in the knowledge of Him”.
1:18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set apart ones). 1:19- And so that you can know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength…..
Suffice to say that knowledge, wisdom and understanding of divine principles are the sine qua non to a successful Christian life. An ignorant Christian is not better that an unbeliever except on the account that a measure of faith which was impacted to him on accepting the lordship of Christ has migrated him to eternal life and therefore a candidate of heaven. Nonetheless, the life of exploit may not be feasible as such demands absolute adherence to God’s word.
Concisely, His notable mandate on believers is to bear fruits and to have the fruits remain.  John  15:16 clearly explained this position, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…

Conclusively, God is perfect and everything He made was carefully made for a purpose and none by accident. Hence, where or how you were born is immaterial as long as you have fixed yourself to the Hope of glory. If you spend time to study God’s word, His purpose for you on this earth would amazingly be unveiled to you. These do not come by seeing visions or dream interpreters but solely by looking into God’s word. Allow the word of God to be the mirror that gives directions in your life. 2 Corinthians 3:18 firmly says, “And all of us, as with unveiled face, because we continued to behold (in the word of God) as in a mirrow the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; (for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit).
