Burnet Middle School parents were dumbfounded, and immediately gathered for a private meeting in the school cafeteria. The parents and members of staff of Austin ISD deliberated on the predicament as well as the likely effects on the school leadership after its principal was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor.

"It's very concerning. It's very scary, but to be completely honest I'm not upset. I'm not upset at AISD. I'm upset at the person who did it," said Burnet Middle School mom Crystle Castro.
Dean was arrested on Monday and charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
"I know that from the district's perspective he is not allowed back at the campus and so we continue to monitor that," said AISD Chief of Police Eric Mendez.
AISD says the incident did not involve any of their students. Still, still two officers will remain at Burnet Middle School each day, "to put parents at ease, ensure the safety of the campuses and to ensure that Mr. Dean does not come back," says reportedly Mendez.
The allegations are upsetting for parents whose children admired Dean. "My son kind of looked up to him, like a mentor, so it really, really upset me," said mother Briana Bueno. Bueno had to explain the situation to her son Monday night. "I was just worried that my son was going to feel betrayal mistrust. He really liked him as a person," she said.
An affidavit from Montgomery County, north of Houston, details the text messages allegedly sent by Dean to the female minor leading to his arrest.
According to the affidavit, a woman in Conroe, Texas alerted police that her 11-year-old daughter had exchanged text messages with Dean on April 15.
Police say the 11-year-old, who is part of Dean's extended family, used her mother's phone to send a message to Dean, inviting him to their home for a party with her mother's permission. The girl and Dean continued to exchange messages while the girl's mother was busy. When the girl's mother got her phone back, she read the messages Dean had sent her daughter, including:
"I'm in Austin so I'm still far but if you're okay I can come lay next to you and give you company!"
"I'm comin for your needs. What are your needs right now."
"Are you sure cause what's best for me is to feel you see you. Can I confess something?"
"If I show up can I sleep in your bed?"
"Do you know what happens to a man when he sleeps? I will try to not let it but sometimes things happen that shouldn't especially with young girls."
"I won't come tonight. Unless you tell me that you want to learn what a man's thing looks like."
In the affidavit, when the girl asked Dean if he knew who he was talking to, he replied, "yes." Dean also allegedly asked the girl if she knew how to delete text messages.
It further stated that the girl's mother messaged Dean and told him not to come to their house. The 11-year-old became scared that Dean was going to come to their home since she had given him the address and access code. The girl's mother called her father-in-law, who confronted Dean about the messages. Dean told the man that his phone was "possibly hacked."
According to Texas Education Agency records, Dean started his career in Texas as a teacher in 2003. He has worked at AISD for a decade as a teacher, assistant principal and school principal.
In a similar development, a 26 year old Hutto High School coach and science teacher, Jake Fenke admitted to having sex with a student in his classroom, according to police.
According to an affidavit, the father of a 16-year-old girl informed the police on May 25 that his daughter had been communicating with Jake Fenske by text message and Snapchat. The father also told police friends of his daughter claimed the girl and Fenske were involved in a sexual relationship.
The girl's cell phone was provided to police and investigators found multiple instances of communication between the girl and Fenske.
When police interviewed the girl, she stated she had been communicating with Fenske via text and Snapchat and had been in a "dating relationship" with Fenske since the end of March.
Police say the girl also said that she had sex with Fenske multiple times, including in his Round Rock apartment and in his truck on an unknown road in Hutto.
In court documents, police say that when they interviewed Fenkse at Hutto High School on May 27, he stated that he loved the 16-year-old and admitted to having sex with her, in his apartment and truck as the girl had stated, as well as inside his classroom at Hutto High School.
Fenske is charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a 3rd degree felony. According to Hutto ISD, he has been placed on administrative leave.
