LAGOS: Fayose, Aluko Reconcile After Incriminating Disclosures

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and the former Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ekiti State chapter, Dr. Temitope K. Aluko, have allegedly reconciled their differences and pledged to work together as before.

According to reports, both Fayose and Aluko met on Sunday night in Lagos behind close door and resolved to sheathe their sword after parting ways leading to disclosures on how they conspired and manipulated the electoral process in favour of the governor and PDP in the state.

Confirming the reconciliation to journalists after meeting, the duo declared that the crisis between them was now over adding that the reconciliation machinery spearheaded by the immediate past speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Dele Olugbemi, was a huge success.
Aluko according to reports stated that the misunderstanding was peacefully resolved, however denied that it was tied to some conditions as widely believed
Fayose, in his own remarks also maintained the position of his formerly estranged political enemy stating that the crisis is being resolved.
“We are resolving the issue, we have made significant progress and we hope and pray to God that there will be peace. In politics, we resolve issues like this and we have made considerable progress like Aluko had said. His coming back is to further strengthen the progress he is talking about and I am sure if this is not important, he won’t be here. He is here because there must be peace”,he said.

Fayose stated that his misunderstanding with Aluko was analogous as that of a father and son and therefore said that despite the dimension the matter approached, he still sees Aluko as his son or boy. “You see, whether you are talking of forgiveness, Aluko remains my boy, my son:, he remarked”, he said.

It would be recalled that Aluko took the misunderstanding to unimaginable dimension by making several incriminating allegations with evidences against Fayose on how he masterminded massive rigging in the election that brought him back to office. At the process, Aluko stated that the witness he made on oath before the court over the election were false which is tantamount to perjury and if prosecuted and found guilty, will be liable to terms of imprisonment.

Based on the disclosures on how Ekiti people were allegedly robbed in a broad day, several notable personalities from the state had called for the trial of Fayose and Aluko, unfortunately, the governor is shielded by constitutional immunity.
