LAGOS: Ambode To Cancel Restriction of Movement During Sanitation

LAGOS State Government has disclosed its plan to cancel restriction of movements during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the state which was introduced by the previous administration.
 
In a statement by the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare on Thursday during the monthly briefing of his ministry at Alausa, the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the cancellation. 

“Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, in line with his responsive government wishes to discontinue restriction during the monthly environmental sanitation exercises”, Adejare said.


The Commissioner also said that the State government will no longer tolerate any form of street trading and environmental abuses that are capable of jeopardizing the conventional standard in relation to cleanliness across the state adding that illegal trading along highways and on walkways will be adequately checked towards addressing traffic situation in the country.
He added that off-loading of goods and market activities are strictly to take place henceforth only within the markets with zero tolerance.
