GOVERNOR of
Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa on Sunday joined other dignitaries that graced the
60th birthday thanksgiving service of Prof. Pat Utomi on Sunday at St.
Monica Catholic Church, Ibusa, Delta State.
Okowa, in
his speech eulogized the eminent economist and world class scholar stating that
Utomi is a blessing to the country at large and Delta in particular adding that
the celebrant deserved every form of celebrations.
Utomi in his
address said registered his gratitude to God for all his accomplishments in the
last 60 years stating that God has been his strength using people around him to
support him even though his hard work is indisputable.
“The theme
of my life is gratitude because everything I have is not by my power but by the
grace of God that has been consistent in my life and the kindness of other
people who have helped me accomplish all I have done”, Utomi said.
In a sermon
which coincided with Palm Sunday, the officiating minister, Rev Fr. Sam
Igwenwanne said that Palm Sunday represented the triumphant entry of Christ
into Jerusalem which is symbolic of hope and victory in Christ. He also
felicitated with the celebrant on his birthday especially his gratitude to God.
