ABUJA: Senate To Revoke Lands Allocated To Jonathan, 29 Others In FCT

SENATE Committee on Federal Capital Territory on Friday issued threats of revocation on plots of land allocated to the erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan and twenty nine other prominent Nigerians in the government reserved areas in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Dino Melaye disclosed this during the 2016 budget defence by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammed Bello.
On the raison d'ĂȘtre, Melaye stated that the plots of land fall within a n area designated zone for construction of tourist centres adding that the committee had already issued stop-work orders to those undergoing constructions in the sites.

Categorically, he stated the committee had embarked on site visitation to the affected areas where it ordered immediate stop of work to workers at the site. He added that committee has also summoned the Minister of FCT in respect of the development.


Among other prominent names affected if the Committee carries on its threat are the former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Muhammed Bello Adoke; Isa Yuguda, former Bauchi State governor; a former late National Security Adviser, Andrew Okoye Azazi and others.
