USA VISIT:Buhari’s Wife Arrives Washington DC, Ridicules Fayose, Others

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha on Wednesday allegedly arrived Washington DC in the United States of America (USA) for a week-long visit in open show believably to prove Governor Ayo Fayose and other critics wrong that she has no skeleton in her cupboard against the allegations linking her to the Halliburton scandal which led to the imprisonment of American famous politician, Howard Jefferson.

 

However, despite Fayose’s claims that Aisha was undeniably involved in the scandal but being shielded by the President from prosecution, Aisha had severally through her media aides denied the allegations and also threatened to institute a legal action for defamation of character against the governor. Still, Fayose dared the president’s wife to pay a visit to the US to prove she was not a fugitive of the law rather than the “divisionary threats” as he said...

Similarly, the acting public affairs officer of the US Consulate General, Lagos, Mr Frank Sellin had in July, in response to enquiries by newsmen on rumoured links between Aisha Buhari and the Halliburton scandal, denied the alleged link with wife of Nigeria’s President.

“We have no information to provide on this matter”, Sellin said.

Certainly, by the visit of the President’s wife to the USA on Wednesday albeit yet to be confirmed, stories and rumours making round against the involvement of Aisha Buhari in the scandal will be nailed except her week-long visit which gives enough time for the American Police to arrest her eventually ends in favour of Fayose boasts. Meanwhile, all eyes are deck watching as events unfold.
