US Commends Buhari’s Administration, Urges Nigerians To Exercise Patience

James Enwistle
OUTGOING Ambassador of the United States of America to Nigeria, Mr. James Enwistle, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership stating that the policies in place since the inception of the administration have the capacity to transform the nation in the nearest future.
Enwistle, who made this remarks in Abuja yesterday, expressed confidence that the country would recover from the economic downturn and pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience with the present administration assuring that President Buhari is determined to make remarkable progress in his tenure.
He further explained that the crisis in the economy was as a result of some problems the administration inherited such as poor infrastructure in the petroleum sector and others...

“I give the president a very good mark and let’s see how he marches forward in the next few months. I think we have to remember what he inherited.  And in my own opinion, we have to be neutral. I think Mr President and his team has done a good job.
“I think he has put in place some things. Though   I am not an economist, what he has done with the exchange rate and fuel subsidy are great.
“He has been able to put the country on the path to economic recovery.
“In my country, a lot of people forgot a very difficult situation President Obama inherited. The same thing is happening to President Buhari to a certain degree,” Enwistle said
