SPECIAL Adviser
to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina
has bagged a Monumental Award from students of Foursquare Gospel
Fellowship of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun,
Delta State.
The award
was given to Mr. Adesina during the 2016 Foursquare Gospel Fellowship Students
Week programme in recognition of his service to the nation as a professional in
the media industry and remarkable inspirations to the youths of the country.
Among the awardees is the senator representing Delta Central District, Ovie
Omo-Agege.
Adesina,
who was represented by Mr. Emmanuel Ogoigbe, registered his gratitude over the kind
gestures from the students, however urged them to see their studies as a
priority stating adding that education remains the most dependable means of
adding values to the scholar and the society at large...
He used
the opportunity to seek their continued support on the present administration
of President Buhari stating that the country is fortunate to have the present
administration in place and reiterated on the campaign promises which he included
youth empowerment , and specifically, added that federal government will employ
about 5,000 youths across the country in the next two years.
Adesina
further explained that the decision by the Federal Government to scrap
post-University Matriculation Examinations (UTME) was necessitated by its
commitment to make admission into tertiary institutions less cumbersome to students.
The
Chairman of the FUPRE 2016 Students Fellowship Week programme, Mr. Onni Joseph
Yusuf, in his address earlier had said the students after assessment
unanimously nominated the presidential spokesperson for the award following his
professionalism, excellence and dedication to duty stating that his antecedents
in the media prior this appointment speak volume of his personality.
