LAGOS State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the

earlier in the week leaving thirty five persons died while many others were
injured.

Officer (PPRO) in the Command, Dolapo Badmos, the Lekki Gardens was arrested on
Thursday and will be charged to court accordingly.
Already, the Lagos State Government have sealed off all the
buildings belonging to the after the incident as iot noticed major cracks on
some of the buildings under construction. In a statement by the Commissioner of
Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, he frowned on the non-compliance
of the developers to comply to the approved plans of the building rather
arbitrarily added further floors on the original approved plans.
“In a brazen act of defiance and impunity, the owners of the
building, Messrs Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited, the promoters of Lekki
Gardens, criminally unsealed the property and continued building beyond the approved floors until the
unfortunate incident of Tuesday which had led to loss of lives”, Ayorinde said.
Apart from the thirty five persons that lost their lives,
about thirteen persons were rescued by the safety management agencies.
Consequently, the relevant agencies have embarked on professional
investigations to unravel the overt cause of the collapse.
