Folashade Tinubu-Ojo |
Tinubu-Ojo who is the Iyaloja-General of the Nigerian Market women
led the group lamenting that after
putting in their best during the elections, the federal government seemingly
ignored them and therefore prayed the leadership of the party to carry them
along arguing that what is good for the goose is for the gander.
“I am here this afternoon to
represent market women and men of Nigeria. There has been agitations, not even
agitation based on allegation, the people believed that the government of the
day is not carrying them along as it should be, that they worked round the
clock for the party during the electioneering campaign, but after the
inauguration most of us are not carried along,” she said.
In a nutshell, Tinubu-Ojo stated that their expectation is to be
carried along and equitably given a sense of belonging as stakeholders in the
party.
However, she didn’t clearly state if the national leader of the
Party had a hint of the agitation, nevertheless, it could be deducted that she led the association
formally as the leader and not personally disappointed in the government of
President Mohammadu Buhari in which her father is incontrovertibly an arrowhead.
According to her statement when reportedly asked on the position of Asiwaju over
the agitation, she diplomatically responded, “Because I am the daughter of the
National leader of APC doesn’t mean that I must not represent my people well, I
have to represent my people’s opinion”, she said.
