Buhari Appoints A Visually-Challenged Man As Special Assistant

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a physically-challenged man, Dr. Samuel Inalegwu Ode Ankeli as his Senior Special Assistant on Persons Living with Disability.

In a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Ankeli is a selfless apostle of ‘change’, and resourcefully headed the Directorate of Persons with Disability at the Buhari/Osinbajo APC Campaign Organisation which worked and contributed immensely towards the clear-cut victory of the presidential election.

The new SSA hails from Benue State, studied Veterinary Medicine at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and is married with children.


From reports, he overwhelmingly led a team to mobilize over 24 million disabled persons in the country in view of the 2015 Presidential Election Campaign.
 He worked with the Benue State government before quitting to give time to his activist role in the promotion of the wellbeing of the blind and people with all kinds of disability. He leads a very active religious and sporting life.”
