KOGI: Group Petitions INEC To Sack Faleke From The National Assembly

A non-governmental organization in Lagos State has requested the Independent Electoral commission, INEC to declare the seat of Mr. Abiodun Faleke vacant as a member of the House of Representatives representing a Constituency in the state following his transfer of his electoral right to Kogi State where he is presently the Deputy Governor-Elect under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC.
In a statement by then organization, Mr. Olanrewaju Osundairo, warned that should the commission fail to do the needful, the group would resort to legal action.
‘’By virtue of the fact that Faleke had transferred his franchise away from Lagos to Kogi State, he ceases to be a member of the constituency. He lacks the moral and legal rights to speak for us in Ikeja at the lower legislative chambers.”
Faleke, who contested the recent governorship election in Kogi state with the late Audu Abubarka and on the demise of the governorship candidate, had futilely protested to be considered as a replacement. However, he has approached the court for the actualization.
