The saxophonist who suddenly
metamorphosed to a multi-millionaire with a mega sum of one hundred million
naira from the President/Founder of Believers LoveWorld, aka, Christ Embassy,
Rev. Chris Oyakhilome (PhD) has acknowledged the credit alert from his banker.
The beneficiary had
just performed on stage along with several others preceding the teaching by the
man of God during the church annual International Pastors and Partners
Conference, IPPC held at Oregun, Lagos.
Suddenly, the saxophonist
who admittedly performed satisfactorily, and had retired to his seat on the Day-1
of the global event was recalled to the stage by the preacher; to be informed
that he was led to give him a sum of N100m specifically on Day-3 of the event,
however did not disclose how the megabucks was to be sourced.
Due to the volume of
the amount, both in-house and virtual participants believed it for believing sake
gave the conventional applause and reverted to the teaching. Suddenly, in-house
participants changed the order; the first confidently approached the stage and
handed over $10,000 to the preacher. Others followed in sequence as if a
whistle was blown.
In less than ten
minutes, US Dollars and British Pounds in various thousands exponentially filled
the hand of the Presiding Pastor including cheques from the host Nigerian
participants in various millions. As announced, the beneficiary’s account was
credited on the Day-3 of the event accordingly. In acknowledgement after
receiving the alert, the saxophonist who openly confirmed the credit stated that
his God is indeed good, and expressed his joy to the Pastor noting that “God
used him to change his status for life.”
In a similar
development, Oyakhilome had earlier issued a certified cheque of One billion
naira to Benson Idahosa University towards the improvement of its Faculty of
Engineering. The event took place during an honourary Doctor of Divinity
awarded to the Pastor.
Oyakhilome who is among
the late Archbishop’s spiritual sons had stated that he learnt a lot from him
as a young man adding that working with him added great value to his life and
ministry. Hence, asserted that it was logical for him to reciprocate in such
way. He also used the opportunity to enjoin well-meaning Nigerians to imbibe
the culture of supporting institutions of learning asserting that government
cannot do it alone.
He said, “The
Archbishop Benson Idahosa was one of the most remarkable and inspiring
personality of the 20th Century. It is a fact of life that those who did not
have the privilege to get to meet him are blessed to meet him through many of
us. The impact of the Archbishop on me as an individual is unquantifiable.”
“Many times, people
would ask me why I talk about the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa more than
anybody. It will surprise you to know that as a young man, I was working with
the Archbishop in the mail room in the Church of God Mission in Benin City. I
was blessed to have worked with the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa. While
working with him, I had the blessing and benefit of seeing the Archbishop
passed by my table everyday to his office,” he said.
In appreciation, the
visitor of the university, Archbishop Margaret Idahosa expressed gratitude to
the awardee noting that the university’s resolution to honour him was quintessentially,
as an illustrious son whose remarkable accomplishments and impacts have positively
changed many lives across the globe.
