Often times, when people are jittery over some unpleasant
circumstances around them, it is usually as a result of one thing; ignorance of
the love of God. No doubt, the world is filled with crises, worries and diverse
negativities; nonetheless, the consciousness of the love of God in our
individual lives is a strong tool for living a continuous life of victories.
Incidentally, the love of God cannot be overtly appreciated
without absolute submission to the Word of God. In His Word, you will discover
that God created you in His image and for a purpose despite the facts or
circumstances that could be surrounding how you were born to this earth or who
gave birth to you. God’s supernatural image or nature is holiness, excellence,
dominion, glory, beauty, power among others.
By His love, we have become joint-heirs of God’s endless
riches and righteousness; and all that can be found in God have become our legitimate
possessions which by consciousness, are enforceable as inheritance; all simply
by His love. Presently, you can stand boldly, relate with Him as our father and
take our rightful position in Christ.
Importantly, it should be noted that the moment one is
adopted into His family, your status in all ramifications changes to be consistent
with His nature. This is rationally benchmarked on the premise that an offspring
of a goat must be like goat; an offspring of a snake must live like snake; an offspring
of a pig must resemble pigs. Suffice to say therefore that as offspring of God,
it is not unconditional to be like God. No wonder, in John 10:34-35, Jesus
remarkably reiterated,’ “I said, ye are
gods. I called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture
cannot be broken.”
In the similar vein, the book of 1 Peter 2:9 AMP continued, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,
a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set
forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”.
This therefore indicates that you may not truly be what and who you present
yourself to God as. God sees you as a special people but unknowingly, most
times, we pitiably present ourselves to God and man as nobody. This alone is
tantamount to unbelief.
Remembering who we are to God is inexorably important on account
of the precious blood of Christ shed on the cross to redeem us from the darkness
of this world. The way we live, conduct
ourselves and relate to one another should substantially reflect who we are.
Romans 12:2 explains it better, “And be
not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
GOD”.
Our actions therefore should always synchronize with the
image, purpose and nature of God both in excellence, prudence and glory knowing
that we have been bought with a price through the love of God. 1 John 4:17 rightly captions it, “Herein is our love made manifest, that we
may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this
world.” To declare therefore to be like God here on earth is now a
possibility.
