New flyovers in Ajah, Abule Egba in 16months, says LASG

The Lagos State Government has said that it has concluded plans to construct flyovers at Ajah along the Lekki-Epe Expressway  and Abule-Egba; two of the state’s high density traffic areas in the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde who disclosed this  at the weekend  stated that the principal target of the present administration is to add value to the lives of the residents of the state adding that the duration of the projects will be 16 weeks. He stated, “The projects  will be completed within 16 months as part of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s ongoing road infrastructure projects across the state.

“The  construction of the reinforced concrete flyover and signalized intersection at Ajah roundabout will be undertaken simultaneously with the rehabilitation of Freedom Road in Lekki  with a view to reducing heavy traffic in the area”.
Explaining further, the commissioner stated that the state government resorts to a solar-powered signalized intersection in order to get rid of the present traffic situation particularly at the Ajah roundabout, while the upgrade of the Freedom Road would ease traffic for vehicles trying to connect Lekki through Admiralty Way.
For the Abule-Egba flyover, he stated “the construction of the reinforced concrete flyover at Abule-Egba junction will equally bring relief to commuters using the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in the Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Area. Like the Ajah project, the Abule_Egba flyover will also have signalized intersection to service Oko-Oba and other link roads in the area.

Ayorinde also stated that other areas have not been overlooked in the road construction or rehabilitation adding that the state government has also awarded contracts for the rehabilitation of some roads in Epe Local Government area and others of the state.
